Taxi Cab

Spring makeup has been on my mind lately. As much as I love winter, the weather the city is experiencing is beyond pleasant. On Sunday, there was a high of -34c. Yes, you read that right. Brrr!

This picture was taken backstage from Tibi's Spring 2011 show. I love how the makeup this model is wearing is very minimal, but cute. It looks like she exfoliated her face before applying a light coat of foundation. Her upper lash line looks like its been coated with a thin layer of liquid liner before applying mascara to curled lashes and topping everything off by applying blush to the apples of her cheeks and a quick swipe of tinted gloss over her lips. It looks so effortless, but completely pulled together.

Look at what I bought...

Set Fire to the Rain

The other night my friends and I had a girls night in and watched a movie and some episodes of 90210 and made vision boards with old magazines, scissors, glue and canvas. Here are some iPod pictures that we snapped through the night and the end result of our creative projects. I think these beauties will be making their way onto our walls very soon! The last one is mine :)

Break it Up, Shake it Up

Its hard to think about spring and summer fashion when we're caught in the middle of January in the freezing cold weather.  To combat the winter blues, just walking through the mall can help in getting in the mood of the warm breeze and sunshine.  While strolling through the mall yesterday with Jess, we were drooling over the spring pieces at Jacob and the Gap. I had to snap this picture of a super stylish mannequin at the Gap. This outfit is perfect.

Holding On

I've been kind of absent from the blog lately as I've been trying to get some school related issues out of the way and taken care of. For some reason, my school doesn't plan the courses they offer very well and doesn't accommodate very well to the mass number of students in my faculty, which has resulted in my trying to get into the right classes last minute to fill up the requirements for my program.

Long story short, I wasn't able to get into a mandatory class I need to graduate, which means I'll have to stay an extra semester in the fall. I'm not happy about it, but I suppose it gives me time to think about my options more (while also digging me deeper into debt and making me slowly go insane). I'm trying to stay positive, because everything happens for a reason, right? Hopefully something great and amazing will come out of this.

In other news, the weather is insane. -28 degrees tonight! Here's a little something to warm you up.

If Shoes Could Talk...

These beauties would be begging me to buy them. I can't believe these suede ankle strap wedges are only $43 at ASOS. Love at first sight <3

Vegetarian Pizza

Last night I wanted something healthy and delicious for dinner so I browsed through my cupboard and my fridge and gathered up the ingredients to make a vegetarian pizza. The end result was amazing and it was so easy to make too, maybe like 15 minutes in total, which is perfect for students who are strapped for cash and want something healthy (which is way better than throwing a chemical infused frozen pizza in the oven).

Okay, so here is what you'll need:

-1 whole wheat pita
-Tomato sauce
-Grated mozzarella cheese
-Green pepper
-1 thick tomato slice
-A handful of spinach
-Pepper

So I started off by preheating my oven to 400 degrees and lined the pita on a plate and spread 2tbsp of tomato sauce onto the pita. Then you're going to want to put a layer of grated cheese over the tomato sauce. Next you're going to chop up some green pepper and tomato and spread it over the pizza (be generous with the veggies, although if you're not a fan of pepper or tomatos, you can switch it out with something else).

After this, take a handful of spinach and take a knife and chop the spinach into pieces so it's easier to spread over the pizza. Next, take a little bit more mozzarella cheese and sprinkle it over the spinach. For some added flavour, I sprinkled pepper over the top. Then you're going to want to place your pizza into the oven for about 10 minutes, give or take, depending on how crispy you like your pizza. And there you have it!

In the Dirt

I'm heading back to my apartment tomorrow. The past three weeks went so fast, I don't know where the time went! I always dislike the commute back to Ottawa, getting up at oh dark stupid in the morning and the uncomfortable 4 hour trip in a cramped bus with creepy people. I think this has to do with my excitement for graduation, no more commuting! Anyways, I've been taken with bedroom decor lately and long for the day when I can decorate my bedroom how ever I like and when I don't have to deal with bland beige walls.

1.1.11.

It's 2011! I hope this year will be filled with amazing things. The one thing I'm really looking forward to this year is graduating from university at the end of July/early August. That day cannot come soon enough! I'm soooo ready to be done university and to start something else. I have no idea what my plans are after that, but I'm definitely moving out of Ottawa. It's time to move on to bigger and better things. Speaking of bigger and better things, join me while I dream about moving and living abroad! One day, hopefully. <3
